REST OF TODAY, TUESDAY 29 APRIL: It will be a generally fine afternoon across much of England and Wales with sunny spells, especially warm in the Midlands and South East England. However, cloud will increase from the west across Wales and perhaps into western parts of England later this afternoon and evening, bringing a risk of some patchy light rain here. South West and South East England should stay largely dry and sunny into the evening. Winds will be mostly light southeasterly 5 to 10 mph, though perhaps gusting 15 to 20 mph in central and eastern areas for a time, and stronger easterly 10 to 15 mph near the south coast around Devon and Cornwall. Temperatures this afternoon reaching a high generally between 19°C and 24°C, warmest inland, then falling this evening. The overnight low across the area will range widely, from 9°C to 18°C, coolest in the east and warmest in the Midlands. TOMORROW, WEDNESDAY 30 APRIL: A largely dry and fine day is expected across England and Wales with plenty of sunshine for most, especially after any early cloud clears, particularly in eastern areas. Wales may start cloudier but should see increasing amounts of sunshine. There is just a very slight chance of an isolated light shower affecting western Wales, but most places will remain dry. It will feel warm in the sunshine. The area high will likely be between 18°C and 26°C, warmest across the Midlands and towards London, cooler along some western coasts. Winds will be light for most, generally starting northeasterly or easterly 5 to 10 mph, becoming variable or turning southerly 5 to 15 mph in many central and southern parts later, but perhaps staying northerly in parts of Wales. Overnight, the low will range from 7°C in some rural spots to 19°C in the larger cities.
