Forecast for Nova Scotia
Issued: 2025-04-29 05:44 ADT
TODAY, TUESDAY 29 APRIL: It's looking like a lovely spring day across Nova Scotia with plenty of sunshine, especially this morning. Cloud will increase a bit this afternoon and evening, becoming partly cloudy in most places. It'll be much warmer inland today compared to coastal areas; places like the Annapolis Valley and northern Nova Scotia will feel quite warm, while it stays cooler along the Atlantic coast and in Cape Breton. Winds start light but will pick up from the south this afternoon and evening, becoming moderate 20 to 30 km/h with gusts of 40 to 60 km/h developing overnight. The high today will range widely, from a cooler 8°C to 13°C near the coasts up to a pleasant 14°C to 20°C inland. Tonight's low will be between 2°C and 11°C, mildest along the South Shore.
TOMORROW, WEDNESDAY 30 APRIL: Cloud increases overnight with rain likely spreading across the province during the morning, possibly moderate at times mainly over northern Nova Scotia and Cape Breton. Expect rainfall totals generally under 5 mm before the rain clears away from west to east by midday. The afternoon should brighten up nicely with sunshine returning for most. It will be a windy day though. Strong southerly winds overnight, 20 to 40 km/h gusting 50 to 70 km/h, will shift to brisk westerly then northwesterly winds during the day at 30 to 50 km/h, with gusts potentially reaching 60 to 80 km/h, especially across northern areas and Cape Breton, before easing a little later. Despite the early rain, temperatures will be quite mild, with the high reaching 10°C to 16°C in Cape Breton and along the Atlantic coast, and a warmer 16°C to 22°C inland and in western areas.
